Terms of Service

Last updated: May 3, 2026

Welcome to theater.games. By creating an account or playing a game, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the site.

What you can do here

Sign up, play the daily games, see how you compare to your friends, and join pools for things like the Tony Awards. We give you a personal license to do all of that. You don't own anything you didn't bring with you.

What you can't do

  • Create accounts on behalf of someone else without their permission.
  • Use the site if you're under 13.
  • Scrape, mass-download, or hammer our servers.
  • Reverse-engineer the games to leak the daily answer.
  • Harass other players, including via handles, display names, or pool comments.
  • Pretend to be us, a celebrity, or another player.
  • Try to break our security, even "just to see if you can."

If you do any of these, we may pause or close your account. We'll usually warn you first; we won't if the situation is serious.

Your account

You're responsible for what happens through your account. If you think someone else is using it, email us at hello@theater.games.

Content

The puzzles, games, code, and design are ours. The handle, display name, and pool name you choose are yours; you give us permission to display them inside the app to other players.

Beta features

Some games launch in a beta program ("Previews"). Beta features can change or break without warning. Please tell us when something feels off.

Pools and Tony Awards predictions

theater.games pools are for fun. We don't take wagers, charge entry fees, or award prize money. If a third party runs a paid pool that uses our results, that's their thing, not ours.

Termination

You can close your account anytime from your Backstagepage. We can close yours if we believe these terms have been violated, in which case we'll do our best to tell you why.

Disclaimers

We provide theater.games as-is. We try to make it work, but we don't promise it'll be available every minute, that the answers will always be perfect, or that your streak will never be reset by a bug. We'll fix what we can.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages from your use of the site. If you live somewhere that doesn't allow that limit, we follow your local rules.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are resolved in the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York.

Changes

If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. The "Last updated" line above tells you when.
